Specialized treatment covers the full spectrum of hepatobiliary and pancreatic conditions, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), cholangiocarcinoma, pancreatic cancer, benign liver tumors, and complex biliary tract disorders.

The department’s surgical volume reached 6,300 hepatobiliary and pancreatic procedures during 2024, encompassing complex liver resections, pancreaticoduodenectomy (Whipple procedures), and advanced hepatobiliary interventions. A landmark achievement includes Eastern Zhejiang’s first successful living-donor liver transplantation performed on a 6-month-old infant, demonstrating exceptional pediatric expertise. Clinical outcomes consistently exceed national standards, with significantly lower rates of short-term complications and reduced one-year mortality post-transplantation.

Advanced surgical capabilities are enhanced through minimally invasive techniques and robotic surgery technology, including the Da Vinci Xi System.
